Brazilian football legend Pele passed away at age 82

São Paulo: The legendary footballer of his time Edson Arantes Nascimento (Pele) has passed away. 82-year-old Pele was undergoing treatment for a long time. It is reported that he passed away on Thursday night at Albert Einstein Hospital in Sao Paulo.

Pele, the famous footballer of Brazil, who is suffering from kidney and prostate disease, was admitted to the hospital for a month and was undergoing treatment. According to international media, Pele’s family members said that Pele died during treatment in the hospital.

Pele is the only player to win the FIFA World Cup for Brazil three times. Football players and spectators used to be fascinated by his game. A rare record has been made in his name of winning consecutive World Cup titles. Brazil won the World Cup in 1958, 1962 and 1970 under the leadership of Pele.

Pele has made history by scoring 1281 goals while playing 1363 games in his 21-year career. He has scored 77 goals in just 92 matches for Brazil. Pele, who has a magical ability in football, was announced as the FIFA Player of the Century in 2000.
